Marble is a very beautiful material that many of us choose to use in our homes. It is a popular material choice for kitchen worktops, kitchen tables, and coffee tables. In other words, the marble trend is definitely here to stay!

However, marble is a sensitive material. If you don't know how to take care of your marble table properly, it is almost guaranteed that sooner or later you will discover both discolorations and scratches on your fine table.

Few things can raise your pulse as quickly as when you accidentally spill orange juice on the marble table. Other acidic substances such as wine, vinegar, and coloured liquids like tea and coffee can also damage your marble table.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to completely avoid spills, no matter how careful you are. To quickly address the problem when it happens, it can be helpful to know what to do in a critical situation.

Clean the marble table regularly

For best results, it is recommended to clean marble tables regularly. The best thing you can do to keep your marble table in the best possible condition is to wipe away any spillage immediately.

Besides wiping away liquids straight away when you have spilled something, it is also important to scrub the table clean from time to time.

Start by cleaning the marble table from crumbs by wiping with a damp cloth. Then scrub clean with a few drops of liquid soap and water. Rinse off the soap and dry with a clean towel for an extra glossy finish.

Maintain your marble table for extra protection against stains

A hot tip is to re-oil your marble table. This significantly increases the table's resistance to spillage. First, clean the table with liquid soap and water. Then pour some light cooking oil onto the marble table and let it sit for a few hours.

The marble will absorb the amount of oil it needs. The rest can easily be wiped away. Then just clean the marble table again with liquid soap and water and dry it off.

You can of course also use professional impregnation agents, such as Leather Master Protect Wax Spray.

Want to avoid taking care of your marble table yourself?

As we said, we recommend that you always wipe away liquids from the marble table immediately to reduce the risk of permanent damage to the marble. The rest you can let us take care of.
